Baccarat AB Rules
- Card values: Ace = 1, cards 2–9 are face value, and 10s plus all face cards count as 0.
- Only the last digit of a total counts — for example 7 + 8 = 15 becomes 5.
- Two hands are dealt, A and B. You bet on A, B or a Tie.
- A “natural” 8 or 9 on the first two cards ends the round; otherwise a fixed third-card rule decides whether a hand draws. The hand closest to 9 wins.
How to Play Baccarat AB Step by Step
- Place your bet. Choose A (Player), B (Banker) or Tie.
- Deal two cards each. Both A and B receive two cards.
- Check for a natural. If either hand totals 8 or 9, the round ends immediately.
- Apply the third-card rule. If no natural, a fixed rule decides whether A or B draws one more card — you never choose.
- Settle closest to 9. The hand nearest to 9 wins; A and B pay roughly even money, Tie pays much more.
Betting & Odds
The B (Banker) bet wins slightly more often and carries the lowest house edge, which is why some tables take a small commission on it. A (Player) is close behind. The Tie pays 8:1 but rarely lands and has a high edge.
